Terms & delivery
Last updated 12 August 2026. This page is a working draft pending legal review and is not yet a contract.
Online sale is not open
WineBaltic does not currently sell wine through this website. Estonian law requires a registered company, a physical sales premise and an entry in the Economic Activity Register (MTR) before alcohol may be sold online. Those are not yet in place, so nothing on this site can be bought and no payment can be taken. The cellar is published so the bottles can be seen and asked about.
Who we are
WineBaltic is run by Rocco Soots in Tallinn, Estonia. A registered company name, registry code, VAT number, registered address and MTR registration number will be published here once they exist. Estonian law requires all of them to be shown before goods are sold, and none of them can honestly be stated today.
Age
Wine is sold to adults only. Buyers must be at least 18 years old, and identification is checked by the courier at handover, every time. This is a legal requirement and not a spot check.
Delivery, when it opens
- Courier only, handed over in person. No parcel lockers.
- Handover between 10:00 and 22:00.
- The recipient must be 18 or over and show ID.
- Deliveries to Latvia carry a minimum six-hour gap between order and delivery, as Latvian law requires.
- No sales to Finland or Lithuania. Finnish distance-selling law is unsettled for wine, and Lithuania has no legal route.
Condition, and what we promise
Every bottle is photographed as it stands, and the photograph is the bottle you would receive — not a stock image. Where fill level, label and capsule have been assessed, they are described. Where they have not, the listing says so plainly rather than implying a condition nobody has checked. At present 3 of the 91 bottles in the cellar have had their condition formally assessed.
These are old bottles. Age shows on them, and a wine of this age carries an inherent risk that the contents are not sound — that risk is the buyer's, and it is the nature of old wine. What is promised is that the bottle arrives as described. If it does not — fill level, label, capsule — it is refunded.
Returns and the right of withdrawal
When online sale opens, consumers buying at a distance in the European Union have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason. That right will apply here and is separate from, and wider than, the promise above about condition. The exact procedure will be set out on this page before any sale is possible.
Complaints
Complaints will be answered directly. Estonian consumers may also refer a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Committee (tarbijavaidluste komisjon) at the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority. Contact details will be published here alongside the company registration.
Draft. This page has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It is published so the site's footer links resolve and so the position is stated honestly, not because the terms are settled.
